Run it from your agent with your own key
This page gives you 10 lookups a day. With a free account and your own DataForSEO or Ahrefs key, your agent checks the results for as many keywords as you need, next to the queries your site already gets clicks for in Search Console.
- Sign in with Google on your account page. That creates the free account.
- Save your DataForSEO or Ahrefs key in the Keys tab. The provider bills you directly.
- Connect the hosted MCP to your agent and ask it who ranks for a keyword.
Read the live results
The checker asks Google for the keyword at the moment you press the button and lists the organic results: each page's title, address, position and the Domain Rating of its site. Add your domain and the result says where it ranks and highlights the row.

Why the first result can be position 3
A results page is more than ten blue links. Answer boxes, video rows, people also ask and other blocks sit between them. The checker counts every block, so a gap in the numbers means something else took that spot. That is closer to what a person sees when they scroll, and closer to how Search Console counts your position. Ads and the blocks themselves are not listed.
Read search intent from the page
The kind of page that ranks tells you what Google thinks the search wants. If every result is a product page, a long guide is unlikely to fit. If they are all guides, a product page will struggle. Forums near the top often mean people want real experience, not polished copy. Look at this before you write anything.
The Domain Rating column shows who you are up against. A first page of sites at DR 80 and above is a hard fight for a new site. A page with a few DR 20 sites in the top ten is a sign that the right page can get in.
One check is a snapshot
Results move during the day, and they differ by city, device and language. A single check is one moment in one country, not your average position. Check again before you act on a small change, and do not read much into a move of one or two places.
