SEO Skill

What is stored

The hosted MCP never stores your data or your keys. The only thing kept is an anonymous count of what ran.

The hosted MCP

WhatWhat happens to it
Your Search Console and analytics dataFetched for each request and returned to your agent. Never saved.
Your Google sign-inSealed into the tokens your MCP client keeps. The server keeps no copy.
API keysSealed into your sign-in, or sent as a header. Used for that request only. Never saved.
Pages checked liveFetched for the request and not kept.
Usage countsAn anonymous count of each run. See below.

There is no database, no account and no log of your data. To cut access, remove the server from your agent and revoke SEO Skill in your Google account connections.

The CLI

The CLI runs on your machine. Your Google tokens, project settings, cached responses and crawls are files on your computer, and they stay there. Nothing is sent to SEO Skill except the anonymous usage counts below.

Anonymous usage counts

Both the hosted MCP and the CLI send small anonymous events, such as “a report ran”. An event holds the event name, the report, the agent, the version and the week. The CLI also sends the operating system, chip type and Node version. An event never holds a site, URL, query, key, account or any report data.

The totals are public on the usage stats page, and the telemetry page lists every field. In the CLI you can turn it off with seo telemetry disable.

Who else sees your data

  • Google answers the Search Console, Google Analytics and URL Inspection requests.
  • The provider you choose gets your research request and bills your account.
  • Ahrefs gets the domains in research rows for the free Domain Rating column.
  • Your AI agent sends the results to its model provider, under that provider’s terms.
  • Cloudflare runs the hosted server and this website, and handles the network requests.

The full privacy policy covers the website, the free tools and the CLI in detail.
